For the past several years, dogs and owners celebrated the holiday season in a parade led by Santa.

In 2009, for the first time, dogs will be welcomed to the Garden in the fall! SAVE THE DATE, October 31, 2009, for the all-new Spooky Pooch Parade, with a new Halloween theme.

As with the Reindog parade, Spooky Pooch festivities will include judging and prizes in these categories:

• Best Overall Holiday Costume

• Best Puppy (under 1) in Costume

• Best Senior (10+) in Costume

• Best Horticultural Interpretation

• Best Owner Look-alike
